It should come as no surprise that consumers are spending more time on their phones than ever before. Flurry, a Yahoo-owned analytics company, reported than in 2015, the amount of time spent on mobile devices rose 117 percent from the previous year.
The question is: What exactly are we all doing on our devices? Well, according to a new report from comScore, about half that time is being spent in apps. This was up from 41 percent in 2014.
While much of this usage is driven by checking into social media, other simpler uses are also proving to be strong drivers, including weather apps, messaging and streaming video and music.
